Features
What every trade shares in Jobcardo: scheduling and dispatch, the flat-rate price book, the estimate from the takeoff, and the markup and margin.
- Field service scheduling and dispatch: the board that puts the crew on the job
Field service scheduling and dispatch is the board between the phone and the van: a job is raised, a technician is put on it in a slot, and the day is the list of jobs in the order the vans should drive them. Jobcardo's board is the same record as the work order, so putting a job on the board does not copy it anywhere, moving it moves the job, and the technician opens the same card the office priced. Every trade on this product uses the one board, in its own vocabulary.
- Field service pricing: the flat-rate price book behind every estimate
Field service pricing is the book behind every estimate on this product: the labour rate, the trip charge, the parts markup, the minimum ticket and the after-hours multiplier, set once and used by every job card the business writes. A trade that prices from memory prices differently on Monday and Friday; the book makes Friday's price Monday's. Jobcardo keeps one book per business, with the lines each trade needs, and the free worksheet prices a job from your figures with no account.
- Pressure washing estimate calculator: the estimate built from the takeoff: quantities by the foot, then the price
An estimate from a takeoff is quantities first and prices second: the feet of fence, the squares of roof, the square feet of floor with the waste allowed, each taken off the drawing or the walk-through before a single rate is applied. Jobcardo keeps the takeoff as the first half of the estimate, applies your own rates and your material costs to the quantities, and carries the estimate onto the job it wins, so the work order, the change order and the invoice are priced from the same quantities the customer signed.
- Estimate template: the markup and the margin on every line of the estimate
The markup is what turns a cost into a price, and the margin is what is left after the job; a contractor who confuses the two under-prices every job by the difference. Jobcardo carries the markup on every line of the estimate, labour and material separately, shows the margin the job will make at that price, and keeps the actual costs against the job once it is done, so the next estimate for the same kind of work starts from what the last one really cost.
- Projects: construction production tracking: the multi-visit job run as a project, and what it produced each week
Some jobs are a morning and some run for weeks, and the long ones stop behaving like work orders. They have a programme of visits rather than a date, subcontractors working under them, costs accumulating against a budget nobody looks at until the end, and a completion that has to be evidenced before the last payment is released. This section is the long job: the plan, what each week actually produced, and the record that closes it.
