The job card
Six hours at $85 with $240 of parts marked up 20%, a $45 trip charge and the tax on parts is a $863.16 work order, worked on the page before the technician leaves the yard, not on the back of the sheet at the end of the day.
The order
Twenty-four units at $38.50 less a 5% discount, plus tax and shipping, is $1,010.22, of which $505.11 is due on confirmation and $505.11 on the invoice, so the customer sees the same two figures you do.
The record
Raised, in progress, done, invoiced and paid, closed: every order against its customer with every change dated, so the question about the job from three weeks ago is answered from the record and not from memory.
