Every figure on this page is computed from the inputs entered, by the method stated below it. Jobcardo publishes no tax rate, no wage figure and no trade standard: the rate, the markup and the tax on the parts line are yours, and the defaults are a worked example to replace with your own figures.
The figures above start from a worked example ($1,010.22). Change any input and the answer updates as you type.

This is a sales order worksheet that confirms the order from your figures: units at a unit price make the line total, a discount comes off it, sales tax applies to the discounted goods, shipping is added, and the total is split into the deposit due on confirmation and the balance due on the invoice. Every figure is yours; the worksheet publishes no tax rate and no terms. Free, on the page, no account; the paid plan saves every sales order against the customer with a status from confirmed to shipped to paid.
The lines, and the discount off them
24 units at $38.50 is $924 of goods, and a 5% discount takes $46.20 off, leaving $877.80. The discount is applied to the goods before tax, which is how most sellers quote it; if you discount after tax, enter the discounted unit price instead and set the discount to zero.
Tax on the goods, shipping on top
Sales tax at 8.25% on $877.80 is $72.42, and $60 of shipping is added untaxed, which is the common case; whether shipping is taxable in your state is a question for your accountant. The worked total is $1,010.22, and every line is shown so the customer can read how it was reached.
The deposit and the balance, split before anyone asks
A 50% deposit on $1,010.22 is $505.11 due on confirmation, leaving $505.11 due on the invoice. Both figures are on the sheet the customer sees, and the paid plan keeps them on the order's record so the balance the invoice asks for is the one the order already showed.
Sales order: common questions
Is this a free sales order template?
It is a free worksheet: enter the units, the unit price, a discount, the tax rate, shipping and the deposit percentage, and it works the line total, the discount, the goods after discount, the tax, the total, the deposit due and the balance on the page with no account and no card. Print it or save it as PDF as it stands. Jobcardo Pro adds your name and keeps every sales order against the customer.
What is the difference between a sales order and a purchase order?
The purchase order is raised by the buyer to the seller and says what they want to buy; the sales order is raised by the seller in reply and confirms what will be supplied at what price. The same transaction has one of each, held by the two sides. This worksheet is the seller's side; purchase orders are served from the estate's purchase hub.
Can I add more than one product line?
The worksheet takes one line of units at a price, which is the shape of most small sales orders; for several products, enter the combined line total as the units at a price of one, or run the sheet once per line. Multi-line orders with a line-by-line record are on the list for the paid plan.
