Set the book once

The labour rate, the trip charge, the markup on parts, the minimum ticket and the after-hours multiplier are entered once. Each trade's page on this product adds the lines that trade prices by, the square foot, the crew day or the unit, on the same book.

Price every job from it

A work order, an estimate or a phone quote takes its numbers from the book, so two people in the office give the same price and the technician on site writes the same one. The record keeps which book line priced each amount.

Change it, and know what changed

A rate change is dated on the book; jobs priced before it keep their price and jobs after it take the new one. The month-end shows the margin per job against the book it was priced from.

Field service pricing: common questions

Is the price book the same as flat-rate pricing? A flat-rate book is a price book with a price per job instead of a rate per hour; the product keeps both kinds, and the plumbing page describes the flat-rate case.

Can each technician have a different rate? The book can carry a rate per person or per crew, and the job card uses the one that did the work, so the margin on the job is the real one.

Is the price book priced separately? No. The book is part of every trade's plan; the pricing page lists each trade's price and the book comes with it.
